Tax Credit Donation (SGO)

The Indiana Scholarship Tax Credit Program was established to incentivize donations to help fund educational choice scholarships for families who wish to attend non-public schools. This tax savings opportunity is available to donors making a financial contribution through a qualified scholarship-granting organization (SGO). Canterbury's preferred SGO partner is Sagamore Institute.

Sagamore Institute SGO is an Indiana state-certified scholarship granting organization that partners with Canterbury on this program. When you give, Sagamore will apply your gift to the state for your tax credit and will issue your income tax receipt. More information regarding Sagamore Institute is available at scholarshipsforeducationchoice.com.

WHY DONATE?

50% Tax Credit

Individuals or corporations who donate through the SGO Program are eligible for a tax credit equal to 50% of the donation amount against their state tax liability.

Support Financial Assistance

Canterbury School is committed to making an exceptional education accessible to students from all backgrounds. It requires a great deal of funding to sustain this type of commitment to accessibility. For the 2018-2019 school year, Canterbury awarded up to $2,750,000 in financial assistance to our student body.  Donations made through the SGO Program directly support our financial assistance program.

Support Annual Giving

In addition to directly supporting our financial assistance program, 100% of all SGO contributions count towards Canterbury's Annual Giving goal.

In addition to the state tax credit, some donations made through this program qualify for a Federal tax deduction. Please consult a tax professional about your specific tax situation.

How to Donate to the SGO
