All Inclusive Arts
From age 2 through Grade 12, Canterbury students have every opportunity to experience the arts in a variety of ways. From vocal and instrumental music to drama and dance to visual art and photography, fine arts courses are an important part of the school curriculum.

At Canterbury, every student makes the team. The interscholastic sports program encourages individual participation and achievement by giving every student an opportunity to learn and play sports competitively. This policy of inclusion is at the core of Canterbury athletics.

A Community of Philanthropy
As an independent school, we design our own programs and curriculum and operate without reliance on local, state or federal taxes. Canterbury School relies on tuition income, Canterbury Fund contributions, endowment income and other fundraising activities to support our thriving college preparatory environment.

Canterbury Senior Named U.S. Presidential Scholars Semi-Finalist

Canterbury School senior Ishan Ramrakhiani has been named a semi-finalist in the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s most prestigious honors for high school students.

Ishan is among approximately 650 students selected as semi-finalists from an initial pool of more than 4,000 candidates nationwide. His application will now advance to the final stage of consideration. Each year, up to 161 students are ultimately named Presidential Scholars.

The recognition places Ishan among an elite group of students recognized for their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Only 14 students from Indiana were named semi-finalists this year, and Ishan is the only student from northeast Indiana to earn the distinction.

This achievement also marks the second consecutive year that a Canterbury student has been named a semi-finalist in the highly selective program.

Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program honors some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
