Canterbury Freshman Chosen for Elite Arts Workshop

Canterbury School proudly announces that Clayton Sloan, Grade 9, has been selected to participate in the inaugural Heather Headley & Pearl Arts Masterclass Workshop, an elite performing arts experience bringing together 31 exceptional students from 13 area school districts. More than 100 students applied for this highly competitive opportunity, making Sloan’s selection a distinguished honor and a testament to her talent and dedication to the arts.

Created by Grammy and Tony Award–winning performer Heather Headley, the masterclass will be hosted at the Pearl Street Arts Center November 7–9. Participants will receive personalized instruction from Headley and her team of professional vocal and acting coaches, culminating in a live showcase performance on Sunday, November 9.

“We are so proud of Clayton Sloan and thrilled to see her recognized for her talent, dedication, and creative spirit,” said Beth Patterson, Director of Performing Arts. “It’s just an incredible gift to be able to work with students who are so talented and whose hearts are sincerely in the right place.”

“It’s such an amazing opportunity to share something I love—singing—with other people who also love to do it,” said Sloan. “Getting to learn from a  performer as incredible as Heather Headley and to be surrounded by students who feel the same joy for music is really special.”

Through its robust arts program, Canterbury School provides students from Early Childhood through High School with opportunities to explore music, theatre, and visual arts.
