John Terrill ‘81 (Grade 8 Graduate) serves as the Executive Director of the Stephen & Laurel Brown Foundation near Oregon, Wisconsin. He is also a board member for Religion News Service and Religion News Foundation. John enjoys hiking, photography, and writing/speaking on issues related to the academy, business, faith, and culture. He is married to Vanja, and they have a four-year-old daughter, Elena.
Shannon E. Smith, LPC, NCC ‘88 opened a solo counseling practice in the fall of 2020. She shifted to full-time teletherapy at the start of the shutdown in March 2020. Smith practices from a trauma-informed perspective with a dedication towards an anti-oppression, anti-racist, and anti-discrimination focus. She specializes in providing therapy to members of the LGBTQIA community.
Luke Carpenter ‘98 and his wife Shelly along with their five children live in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Luke recently shifted roles and is now a Senior Partner with Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Luke and his entire family enjoy the outdoors and all that Fort Wayne has to offer.
Priya (Mathew) Badger ‘03 and her husband Christian welcomed a son, George Cherukara Badger in late 2020. The new family resides in Chicago, Illinois and Priya works for an instructor-led 1:1 and group coding class online platform called Codeverse, which has grown in popularity during the past year of remote learning.
Blaire Reichenbach ‘05 recently moved back to Fort Wayne, Indiana and will own and operate a Pure Barre Fitness Studio. She is looking forward to enjoying time in her hometown and reconnecting with other local alumni.
Matt and Lesley (Stephenson) Savage ‘07 welcomed their first child Grace Elizabeth Savage into their family on April 15, 2021. New parenthood has been a blessing and new aunt and uncle Blake and Jessica (Stephenson) Sharpe ‘03 enjoy the new addition to their extended family, too.
August (Gus) Steigmeyer ‘08 received the United States Department of Defense Antarctica Service Medal in January 2021 in recognition of valuable contributions to exploration and scientific achievement under the United States Antarctic Program. During his PhD program, he conducted research for the National Science Foundation’s Long-term Ecological Research program in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica as well as the Subglacial Antarctic Lakes Scientific Access program.
Linnea (Corey) Tennant '09 and her husband Jace Tennant welcomed their first child Caroline Hope Tennant into the world on October 30, 2020. Linnea and Jace live in Zionsville, Indiana.
Emily Short ‘13 is living in Los Angeles with her partner. She completed her master’s degree this year and graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Education with an Ed.M. in Human Development and Psychology. Emily is very excited to be teaching preschool in the fall, and she is thankful for the folks in Canterbury Early Childhood who she worked with right after college.
Helen Lou ‘13 is a program lead at Rolls-Royce North American Technologies, Inc. and currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. After completing a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University she immediately began a career with Rolls Royce. Lou recently gave back to her Canterbury community by presenting a Zoom chapel in Spring 2021.
