Canterbury School welcomes today's guest speakers, panels, performers, students and faculty to the 3rd annual Courageous Conversations. The summit encourages a safe dialogue between the community and faculty experts and the audience of students in Grades 5-12, concerning topics that are real and present in our communities and our students' lives. As all conversations do, the hope is that the presentations will stimulate thought and further questions. "Our overall mission is to build respect and understanding for what is unique about each of us – our similarities and our differences. Being intentional in having conversations and embracing what is unique and different is paramount in creating global citizens," said Ben Ottenweller, assistant head of school. "It is just one day...but it's used as a springboard for our school's daily diversity work, critical in a college prep environment. A day, like this one, reinforces to parents and the community, the school's commitment to developing wonderful human beings."
