Dear Canterbury Families,

The nursing staff at Canterbury School received new guidance today from the Allen County Department of Health regarding the proper protocol for when a student is sent home upon displaying symptoms.

Today, we learned that if a student is sent home upon a display of symptom(s), any sibling of that student must also be sent home. This is in accordance with the Indiana State Department of Health's definition of close contact.

We know that this may cause an inconvenience, and Canterbury is sensitive to that. Given the importance of keeping our community safe and on campus, we feel strongly that compliance with this guidance is in the best interest of our school community.

We appreciate your patience and grace as our nursing staff manages each case. Our nurses have been incredible throughout the start of the school year, and we are so thankful to have their professional expertise, along with their dedication to keeping every family safe.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Cordially,

David Jackson
