September 2019 Fine Arts Newsletter
Parents and Caregivers,
Together we have more than one full week under our belts, and the 2019 - 2020 school year promises to be a spectacular adventure. The Fine Arts Department is pleased to partner with you in your child's learning process and we look forward to sharing the wonders of self-discovery with them every day. From finger-paints to senior solos, our goal is to help each child find joy in the creative process and develop important life skills to ensure success throughout their lifetime.
We kicked off our year on Wednesday with Lower, Middle and High School musical ensemble performances at the K-12 Convocation. It is exciting to be a part of such an important community gathering at Canterbury and to have the opportunity to work with Division Directors and student presenters to create shared memories of this time and this place.
Thanks for taking the time to open and read the first monthly Fine Arts Newsletter. We look forward to sharing monthly articles from our team. We hope you will find this a valuable tool for insight into what, how, and why we do what we do!

Canterbury Arts in the Community
On August 23 and 24, select Canterbury students performed at Fort Wayne's Taste of the Arts Festival, while others displayed their artwork. We love when our students showcase their talent in the community!

Upcoming Events
Canterbury School celebrates National Arts in Education Week, September 8-14! This national celebration was created and passed by Congress in 2010 with the intent of showcasing the transformative power of the arts. This is a great time to thank the esteemed founders of Canterbury for their belief in maximizing learning in and through the arts.I'm a new Text block ready for your content.
