Merit Scholarship

Canterbury School offers merit scholarships to new incoming Grade 6 and Grade 9 students whose academic standards and strength of character embody Canterbury School’s mission.
Scholarships are renewable each year, providing the student maintains an excellent academic record and demonstrates good citizenship. All applicants are considered for this scholarship and grants may be up to half tuition.

How to Apply

  • Complete the Merit Scholarship Interest Form.
  • Complete Canterbury School Admission requirements:
    • Submit the an application.
    • Schedule a shadow day.
    • Submit current grades/progress report.
    • Provide references (names and contact information provided on the application.)
    • Complete the Admission Testing (on the shadow day)
    • Participate in an interview with school representatives.
  • Complete all requirements by January 31, 2024.
  • Merit Scholarship recipients will be notified by February 20, 2024.

Merit Scholarship recipients may also be eligible to receive need based financial assistance. You may apply by completing the Financial Assistance Application. The application opens December 1, 2023 and closes January 12, 2024. Financial assistance awards will be available by February 20, 2024.
