Malone Scholarship
Canterbury School was selected by the Malone Family Foundation in 2006 to receive a $2 million endowment for the funding of educational opportunities for academically talented and motivated students whose families demonstrate financial need. The school is one of just 50 schools in the nation to be part of this prestigious program.
The Malone Scholarship is open to rising Grade 7 and 9 students who are new to the school and meet the following criteria:
- Be a United States citizen
- Meet the admission requirements of Canterbury School
- Perform in the top five percent of students nationally in his/her class
- Perform at the 95th percentile or higher on national standardized testing
- Seek a college preparatory education
- Show enthusiasm and motivation for maximizing his/her educational opportunities
- Have demonstrated financial need of at least 30 percent of school costs.
How to Apply
- Complete the Malone Scholarship Interest Form.
- Complete Canterbury School Admission requirements:
- Submit the Middle School or High School Application, whichever is applicable.
- Schedule a shadow day.
- Submit current grades/progress report.
- Provide references (names and contact information provided on the application.)
- Complete the Admission Testing (on the shadow day)
- Participate in an interview with school representatives.
- Complete and submit the Financial Assistance Application. (Application opens December 1, 2023 and closes January 12, 2024.)
- Complete all requirements by January 31, 2024.
- Merit Scholarship recipients will be notified by February 20, 2024.
