Canterbury Scholars Competition
The Canterbury Scholars Competition is an opportunity for area eighth graders to compete for scholarships to attend Canterbury High School beginning in their freshman year.
As many as ten scholarships of $2,000 annually ($8,000 total for Canterbury High School) will be awarded toward tuition in this special opportunity.
The morning of the Canterbury Scholars Competition, students will complete a standardized test and write an essay. All participating students and their parents will have the opportunity to schedule a conference to review the results.
While Grade 8 students are testing, parents will attend an information session, which covers the school's college preparatory curriculum, athletic and fine arts opportunities, and extracurricular programs.
After the morning of the Canterbury Scholars Competition, all participating students will schedule a return visit to Canterbury to attend classes with a current student. Final award decisions will be based on the standardized test, the written essay and school transcripts.
The 2018 Canterbury Scholars Competition was held on Saturday, Oct. 6. Please check back in August 2019 for the 2019 Competition date and further details.
