Sock Hop Dance Class

The term "sock hop" was introduced when dancers were required to remove their hard-soled shoes to protect the varnished gymnasium floor.

These "hops" were iconic of the 1950s, and they're a beloved Canterbury School tradition! Students in Kindergarten Prep through Grade 4 are invited to participate in the Canterbury School Sock Hop Dance Class. This three-week program introduces young dancers to '50s-inspired routines, and it concludes with two special performances.
