International Students
International Admissions at Canterbury School
In an increasingly global and interdependent world, an educated person understands and appreciates the world beyond one’s immediate home. At Canterbury School, we know that fostering a global perspective and intercultural understanding are part of preparing our children to be global citizens. One way to develop a global perspective and build cross-cultural understanding is through international educational study and exchange.
International Student Program
Canterbury School welcomes highly qualified students from around the world to apply for limited openings in our High School, Grades 9-11. Our learning community provides a nurturing environment, a challenging curriculum, and leadership opportunities. Our graduates are very successful, and gain admissions and scholarships to a wide array of excellent colleges and universities. We partner with Hamden Edux to help international students with the admission process and assist in their transition to the United States. If you are interested in applying to Canterbury School as an international student, please contact Nicole Justice at njustice@canterburyschool.org.
To Apply (does not include exchange students)
All international applicants to Canterbury School (Grades 9-11) must:
- Submit a online application form via Hamden Edux
- Submit official transcripts of previous two academic years.
- Submit recommendations from English and Math teachers
- Submit standardized test scores: TOEFL/iTEP and SSAT (Optional)
- Complete the virtual interview with an admission officer.
Upon Admission

Become a Host Family
International students live with a host family, immersing themselves not only in that particular household, but also in the Canterbury School community and northeast Indiana. As a member of the host family household, international students are cared for as a member of the family and included in family meals, outings, and other experiences. Participating in the homestay program allows students to fully immerse themselves in American culture and family life. For more information on hosting a Canterbury School international student, please contact Magda Stephens at mstephens@canterburyschool.org.
