Clubs, Activities and Trips

Throughout the school year, Middle School students have several opportunities to become involved with clubs, extracurricular activities, and class trips.

CLUBS

Middle School students can get involved in a number of on-campus clubs during after-school hours:

  • Chess Club
  • Circle the State With Song
  • ISSMA
  • Knowledgemasters
  • MATHCOUNTS
  • Speech Team
  • Spelling Bee

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Middle School students can participate in a variety of on-campus activities during after-school hours:

  • Fall Frenzy: This afternoon of games, food and fun for all students in Grades 5-6 is held after school in October.
  • Snow Fest: This winter carnival is a fundraiser organized by the Grades 5-6 advisories benefiting community organizations of their choice.
  • Middle School Musical: Students in Grades 5-8 may participate in the annual Middle School Musical. Tryouts take place in January and the performance is staged in March. The cast and crew typically number 60-100 students.
  • Socials: Socials are occasionally held on Friday evenings from 6:30 – 9 p.m. for students in Grades 7-8.

CLASS TRIPS

Students participate in a variety of field trips to special sites in Fort Wayne and beyond. Some trips have become part of the curriculum and are sponsored yearly.

Grade 5

  • Camp Potawotami in the fall
  • Ski trip in the winter

Grade 6

  • Cave exploration in southern Indiana in the fall
  • Ski trip in the winter

Grade 7

  • Camp Tecumseh for three days and two nights in the fall
  • France or Panama (alternating years) for nine days at Thanksgiving
  • Ski trip in the winter

Grade 8

  • Washington, D.C., for four days in the fall
  • France or Panama (alternating years) for nine days at Thanksgiving
  • Ski trip in the winter
