Clubs and Activities

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs and activities before and after school and during their free time at school. Some activities have an additional cost.

Chess Club

The chess club meets once per week throughout the year (either Monday or Thursday, depending upon a child’s skill level), and there are opportunities for competition.

Zero Gravity Jump Rope Team

One, two, even six jump ropes at a time have been used by this group of energetic jump ropers. This group of students meets weekly before school to learn and develop performance jump rope routines that they take on the road to events such as High School basketball games, the Mad Ants, and the Pacers.

SPREE Gymnastics

Spree is a noncompetitive gymnastics program designed to enhance children’s self-esteem, physical ability, and confidence. It is open to students in Kindergarten Prep through Grade 4.

The Green Team

Environmental-minded students volunteer to work with the Lower School science specialist during lunch recess on recycling issues. They work on everything from educating other students about recycling to sorting plastic, paper, cans, and magazines.

Tech Team

Fourth-grade students apply to be members of the Tech Team, which meets weekly during lunch recess. Under the supervision of the Lower School computer specialist, students assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all Lower School computers, learn to use digital still and video cameras, and assist with Lower School Technology Night.

Science Club

This club, open to students in Grades K-4, consists of various four-week sessions throughout the year for different grade levels.

Writing Club

Third and fourth grade students who demonstrate great enthusiasm for writing meet bi-weekly during lunch with a faculty sponsor. The group is established through teacher recommendation.

This group of dancers meets weekly after school to learn routines. They perform at school Chapels and various venues throughout the year.
