SCRIP GUIDELINES

SCRIP may be purchased in three ways

1.  Complete the SCRIP order form. Bring the form and your check, made out to “Canterbury SCRIP,” to the LS, MS or HS office on Monday morning by 9 a.m. (Your order may be sent to school with your child; however, we are unable to process orders received after 9 a.m.) Using this method, your choices of product are limited to those listed on the order form. Orders will be available for pick up on Fridays.

2.   Place your order online at www.shopwithscrip.com. You may pay using “PrestoPay” (direct debit from your bank account) or bring a check to any office by 9 a.m. Monday. Setting up “PrestoPay” takes just a few minutes and requires entering your bank routing number and account number. The entire process to set up your account takes one to three days. The Canterbury SCRIP enrollment number is B45DLB7C28527. Using this method, you may choose from the hundreds of vendor options listed online. Orders will be picked up on Friday as listed above.

3.   Purchase SCRIP at the Canterbury SCRIP Store during store hours. Using this method, your choices of product will be limited to the items we have in inventory.

ABOUT SCRIP

SCRIP is cash. Once SCRIP gift cards are picked up, the school cannot be responsible if the gift cards are lost. For this reason, SCRIP orders will not be sent home with students and must be picked up at the designated time as listed above. You will be asked to sign upon receipt of your order.

The  SCRIP PROGRAM AGREEMENT must be completed prior to placing an order by anyone who wishes to participate in the SCRIP program. This form simply indicates whether you would like the contribution portion to benefit your family, another family or the school. Your election is valid for the entire SCRIP year (June 1 - May 31). If you wish to change your contribution designation, we can accommodate your request at the start of the following year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What is SCRIP?

A

SCRIP is a vendor rebate program used by schools, sport clubs, churches and other non-profit organizations to raise money using merchant certificates. SCRIP offers your family the opportunity to purchase gift cards for things you use every day like gas, clothing, groceries and dining. Retailers that participate in the SCRIP program reward your loyalty to their stores by providing a rebate to the school. Canterbury will, in turn, reward your participation in the SCRIP program by allowing you to apply 50 percent of that rebate toward your tuition bill in the following school year.

Q

Where do SCRIP certificates come from?

A

The certificates sold through the Canterbury Parent Association SCRIP Program come directly from the retailers. The certificates are the same gift cards you would buy if you went to the participating retailer and purchased them yourself.

Q

Is there a cost to participate?

A

No. There are absolutely no costs to participate. Participation in the SCRIP program is completely voluntary. The only “cost” - if there is one - is the preplanning required to purchase the gift cards you need.

Q

How can I buy SCRIP?

A

SCRIP may be purchased in the following three ways:
• Via the Monday order form
• On-line at www.shopwithscrip.com
• At the Friday SCRIP Store

Q

Can I pay for SCRIP with a credit card?

A

Unfortunately, the Parent Association cannot accept credit card payments for SCRIP orders. The only acceptable forms of payment are cash, check and direct debit from your checking account (if you are ordering via www.shopwithscrip.com).

Q

What if my check is returned due to insufficient funds?

A

A $30 charge will be assessed to any orders paid with checks that are returned due to insufficient funds. This fee is in addition to any fee your bank may charge. In addition, the order in question will be held until the $30 insufficient funds fee is paid and the order total is paid in cash. Upon a second returned check, you will only be permitted to pay for your orders in cash.

Q

Do I have to order every week?

A

No. There are no requirements for ordering. You can order as frequently or infrequently as you like.

Q

Who can buy SCRIP?

A

All Canterbury families, staff, faculty and friends are welcome to purchase SCRIP.

Q

What if the SCRIP store hours do not work for me?

A

There are three alternatives available to picking up your SCRIP order during Friday Store hours. Each option requires the parent to complete the appropriate waiver or form. If your child rides the bus home from school, SCRIP can be delivered to your student in the bus loading area. Parents with LS and MS students staying for Aftercare may pick up their SCRIP order in the EDC before 5:30 p.m. on Friday. And HS students, with appropriate permission, may pick up SCRIP orders in the HS office after 3:15 p.m. on Friday. See the SCRIP Options Tab above for full details and forms.

Q

What if the gift cards get lost?

A

SCRIP is considered cash and should be treated as such. Unfortunately, the school cannot be responsible if gift cards are lost while in your possession.

Q

Who do I contact with questions about SCRIP?

A

Direct any questions concerning the SCRIP program to Jennifer Haines at jghaines@mac.com or Tish Teel at pmteel@yahoo.com. They will respond promptly to your requests.
