Canterbury Food Service strives to provide students with nutritional lunches and a la carte items. Our goal is to offer healthy, good-tasting hot lunches, supplements for student brown bag lunches for Kindergarten Prep students through Grade 12, plus mid morning snacks for grades 5-12.
Hot lunch may be purchased yearly (four quarter payment plan), weekly and daily. Lunches include fruits and vegetables.Seconds are available for students who are still hungry.
Lower School hot lunch students may choose to substitute a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a cheese sandwich, turkey sandwich, ham sandwich, or a cup of soup for the main entrée. Middle School may, in addition, substitute a bagel and some form of protein (cream cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, string cheese, cheese cubes). At the Middle School on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, grades 5-8 also may substitute a side salad with meat. High School students have a wider variety of substitutions, including sandwiches and salads.
Hot lunch students may have seconds (soup, peanut butter or cheese sandwiches, the main entrée; if available), if they have eaten their main entrée and taken a bite of the side items. Seconds are also available on fruit and/or vegetables.
Pizza Day
Pizza will be served the
first day of each school week,
typically on Monday unless it is a holiday.

Hungry Howie’s and Papa John’s Pizza rotate being served on Pizza Day this year.
