Every Parent is a Member

Welcome to a new year at Canterbury School. We, as parents and family  members, have a wonderful opportunity to be involved in many aspects of our  children’s educational experience and extracurricular activities. One of which,  is by volunteering. Canterbury has a strong tradition of volunteerism that  contributes to the success of our school.

Parent Association volunteers support the teachers and administration through various grade-level, division and school-wide events. The Parent Association has many exciting events planned for the 2014-2015 school year. Each event is chaired by parent volunteers. They need your volunteer  efforts to make each event a success. Feel free to contact them to learn more.

Please review and fill out the Volunteer Selection Form. As you can see from the list, there are many ways to get involved. Whatever your interest or schedule allows, there is a volunteer opportunity that is right for you. Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet other parents, get to know the teachers better, and learn more about the school. Our goal is 100 percent participation, and we are committed to finding the right volunteer opportunity for you.

As a parent, you are automatically a member of the Canterbury Parent Association.  All parents are invited and encouraged to attend the Parent Association Meetings. We have six meetings during the school year, three of which feature guest speakers. Please take a moment to note the dates of the meetings on this mailing and put them on your calendar. We truly welcome your attendance.

I look forward to working with you this year. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions, comments or ideas. I especially welcome new parents. Thank you in advance for your dedicated service to our school.

Sincerely,
Lisa Smits
