Canterbury School Song

Parents are essential to everything we do at Canterbury School. They cheer from the stands … they share their career experiences in class … they serve lunches … they organize school events … they fold newsletters … they provide homework support and encouragement. Parents are a vital and vigorous part of our community, and they are warmly welcomed. As an independent school, Canterbury relies on its parents to support the school’s mission and efforts. Canterbury was founded by parents with a vision for education, and meeting that vision is a goal today’s parents still embrace.

Welcome, Parents

PARENT ASSOCIATION

Every parent is automatically a member of the Canterbury Parent Association. You are invited to attend Parent Association meetings to learn a wealth of information about events, programs and the curriculum. Please consider serving as a volunteer, too. There are activities to suit every interest: serve as a class parent representative; assist in the classroom; chair a division event; greet students in carpool; sort the school’s archives; and much more. Contact 2008-2009 Parent Association President Laura Rao at volunteer@canterburyschool.org or fill out and submit the volunteer e-form on this site. The organizer of the activity you choose will respond by telephone, postcard or e-mail to enlist your help.

Parent involvement serves not only the school as a whole but your child directly. In our tight-knit family, there are many opportunities to be a part of your child’s educational and social experience. That connection between home and school reinforces academic and character development while creating a lifetime of memories as your child grows at Canterbury School.
