All Inclusive Arts
From age 2 through Grade 12, Canterbury students have every opportunity to experience the arts in a variety of ways. From vocal and instrumental music to drama and dance to visual art and photography, fine arts courses are an important part of the school curriculum.

At Canterbury, every student makes the team. The interscholastic sports program encourages individual participation and achievement by giving every student an opportunity to learn and play sports competitively. This policy of inclusion is at the core of Canterbury athletics.

As an independent school, we design our own programs and curriculum and operate without reliance on local, state or federal taxes. Canterbury School relies on tuition income, Canterbury Fund contributions, endowment income and other fundraising activities to support our thriving college preparatory environment.

Aaron Koa '21 has been at Canterbury School for five years. In Grade 10, he decided to try something different and signed up to take a photography class.

Q: Why did you decide to take photography?
Aaron: I took photography in sophomore year because I knew nothing about the subject and thought it could be interesting.

Q: What do you love most about photography?
Aaron: There's a lot of freedom with what you're allowed to do. It's fun to mess around with friends and take pictures.

Q: Tell me about Mr. Perfect and what kind of a teacher he is.
Aaron: I like how easygoing his class is. He tells us it's essential that we find time do other things besides just schoolwork which I think the class helps us do.

Q: Tell me about taking photos at the snowball fight.
Aaron: In a year where there haven't been as many typical school events because of the need to socially distance, it was a nice break to be able to play in the snow.
