New to the Arts Crew

Katherine Hollman '17
Middle School Visual Arts

Birthplace: Fort Wayne

High School: Canterbury School

Tell us a little bit about your family/pets.
I currently live with my roommate from college and my cat Ziggy Stardust, named such because he has two different colored eyes.

What drew you to Canterbury School?
I was partially drawn to Canterbury as I had attended here from 7th grade until my high school graduation. Canterbury truly pushed me to succeed and to strive for greatness. Canterbury was a great motivator for me, and I want to give back what the school gave to me when I was a student.

What are you most excited about for this school year?
As a first year teacher, I'm excited about everything! However, I am especially excited to have my own advisory.

What are some of your hobbies?
Anything art related- crocheting and sewing mostly. I also enjoy hiking, and this summer I completed the five mile hiking challenge at Turkey Run State Park.

Canterbury's motto is, "Integrity in All Things." What does the word "integrity" mean to you?
Integrity to me is being the best person you can be without expecting anything in return. As a teacher, this means actively listening to and caring about each and every one of my students, and doing so just for my love of teaching, rather than for a reward.
