Canterbury orchestra students have once again made an impression at the state level with four Middle School students accepted to the Junior All-State Orchestra and two High School students accepted to the Senior All-State Orchestra (one as an alternate).

"Join me in congratulating these students for this incredible achievement," said Canterbury Orchestra Teacher, Colleen Tan. "I am so very proud of their very hard work and long-term dedication to get their playing to this level."

Edward Sun '23 was accepted into the Senior All-State Orchestra for cello, while Jessica Zhou was named first alternate for violin. Sixty-nine students total were selected for the orchestra, and Canterbury's Sun and Zhou were the only greater Fort Wayne area students to be accepted, with the exception of one homeschooled student.

Sarah Krabach '25 (viola), Sunjana Nalamolu '25 (viola), Maria Tan '25 (cello), and Julia Valcarcel '26 (violin), all from Canterbury Middle School, were accepted to the Junior All-State Orchestra. Canterbury School had the highest number of acceptances from any private school in Indiana for Junior All-State. Forty-eight students from the entire state were selected for this ensemble.

The All-State Orchestras will perform on June 4 at the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana.

"I am thrilled for them to have the opportunity to perform in such an amazing concert hall," Colleen Tan said.
