Thirty artworks by Canterbury Lower and Middle School students are on display at the Arts United Center in downtown Fort Wayne. Canterbury art teachers Missie Madsen and Maria Kirkland hung the exhibit in November. The works have already been viewed by thousands of theater goers attending the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre's sold-out production of "White Christmas" and the Fort Wayne Ballet's "The Nutcracker." The art will be on display through January 8. "For the community to see what we are doing is a great way to showcase what we do," said Mrs. Madsen, LS art and MS Art Projects.

Fine Arts Department faculty chose works from students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 that demonstrate what the students are studying in class. In Kindergarten through Grade 4 art classes, students works reflect lines and color. The MS Arts Projects class works are more 3D. And the Middle School arts classes create using color theory. "I think it really is a big deal for the students to have their work be seen by so many people," said Mrs. Kirkland, MS art teacher.
