The Endowment
Part of leaving a lasting legacy for the future is to grow the endowment fund. Canterbury School seeks to grow its endowment fund by $3 million. The endowment supports the following areas:
- Student Financial Assistance: Endowment is sought to maintain Canterbury’s significant commitment to need-based financial scholarships. The school awarded more than $800,000 in 2005-2006.
- Endowed Faculty Chairs: To attract, reward and retain outstanding faculty, Canterbury will continue its program of fully endowed faculty chairs, as well as endowments for department chair stipends.
- Faculty Professional Development: Outstanding faculty retains their excellence through opportunities to learn, grow and develop professionally. Endowment grants demonstrate the school’s commitment to continuous improvement in its academic program.
- Libraries & Technology:
Expansion of endowed library and technology programs is essential if students
are to have the resources they need to support their academic development.
- General Endowment: To meet current and future needs and to be
responsive to the changing requirements of a dynamic educational program, the
school must build its general endowment.
"Thirty years ago the founding parents planted a seed that has grown to become Canterbury School. It is now our turn to assure that the Canterbury Legacy continues to flourish." - Lower School Parent
