A Distinictive High School

Here, a challenging, exciting academic curriculum prepares students for success – in college and in life. The curriculum is enhanced by an emphasis on the moral and spiritual development of students to foster in them an awareness of enduring values. A diverse and dynamic extracurricular and social environment rounds out High School campus life.

The primary goal of Canterbury High School is preparation for secondary education, recognizing this as the next important step in lifelong education. While the major themes of earlier years at Canterbury are continued, students are encouraged to develop a greater sense of responsibility and independence in confronting both academic challenges and moral decisions.

A rigorous curriculum offers students the opportunity to receive college credit through Advanced Placement examinations. Athletic and extracurricular programs stress participation, allowing all students to discover and develop special interests and talents for lifelong enjoyment. Finally, crucial ethical questions are raised in an environment both committed to and supported by the principles of the Christian faith.

  • All Canterbury students engage in at least 60 hours of community service during their sophomore and junior years.
  • Enrollment at each grade level has five sections of 15-19 students, with exceptions based on best placement decisions. The small class size allows for greater individual instruction.
  • Each senior participates in a professional internship. Students have shadowed attorneys, physicians, journalists, business people and more in the region and even the East and West Coasts.
  • Two specialists staff the college counseling office. Each fall, the college counseling director chaperones a week-long trip during which juniors visit colleges and universities.

Spend the day with us. Students are invited to be a Canterbury student for the day. To schedule your visit, contact the admissions office at 260-407-3553 or e-mail admissions@canterburyschool.org.
