    LEAH BARNES PLAYS IN STATE QUARTER FINALS FRIDAY

    Leah Barnes will represent Canterbury High School for the final time at the girls state tennis tournament Friday and Saturday, June 12-13 at Park Tudor School, 7200 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis. Admission is $5 per person per day. Leah will play the quarter final match on Friday at 2 p.m. With a win she advances to the semi-final on Saturday at 10 a.m. and the state championship at 2 p.m. Good Luck, Leah!

  • Canterbury's Barnes ranks among area's top all-time individual athletes

    Someday, Leah Barnes will be able to look back and see just what she accomplished during her senior year. Maybe by then, everyone else will figure out how to quantify it and put it into perspective. The Canterbury senior finished off her high school tennis career two weeks ago with a three-set loss in the state semifinals. That completed a remarkable 109-4 career record, including 25-1 during her senior season. She finished in the state semifinals or higher three times, and is being named The News-Sentinel Tennis Player of the Year for the fourth time.

  • BECKMAN JOINS COACHING STAFF

    Canterbury High School is pleased to welcome John Beckman to the athletics staff as he takes over as Head Girls Basketball Coach. He succeeds Wayne Kreiger, who recently retired. Coach Beckman has been a steady contributor to local high school basketball for more than 20 years, and he is ready to bring his talents and experience to the program at Canterbury.
