Volunteer Opportunities

We need you! The success of Canterbury’s alumni events and development programs relies on the generosity of volunteers. Listed below are a few of the very important ways Canterbury alumni can contribute their time and energy. If you would like to volunteer for Canterbury alumni programs on campus or in your city, please contact:

Class Reunions

A successful reunion requires the efforts of many class volunteers. Reunion planning usually begins in the year leading up to your reunion – so if your class year ends in 2 or 7, now is the time to step forward.

Alumni Gatherings

The holidays and graduation traditionally bring many alums back to town. The December and June gatherings have become popular local events. Alumni of all ages get together to see the familiar faces of classmates, teammates and faculty. Details are pending for these events, so your ideas and energy are welcome.

Regional Gatherings

Canterbury alumni can be found in most major cities and in nearly all 50 states. To find out who's in your area or to organize a gathering, please contact Emily Kimbrough Roussel at 260-436-0746 or alumni@canterburyschool.org.

Annual Fund/Class Agents

Class agents represent the Canterbury Annual Fund, asking their classmates to contribute. Most of their work consists of writing letters. More volunteers are always needed (especially for reunion classes). Alumni Association Officers

New alumni association officers are elected every two years. Because of the need to hold regular meetings on campus, it may be preferable for officers to live in or near Fort Wayne. If you are interested in serving as president, vice president, secretary or treasurer, please contact Emily Kimbrough Roussel at 260-436-0746 or alumni@canterburyschool.org. Your name will be submitted to the nominating committee for consideration in the next election.

On Campus

At times, alumni are invited to serve on campus as guest speakers. A number of alumni have returned to give a Chapel or classroom presentation. If you have expertise or experiences that may be pertinent to Canterbury students, please consider contacting Emily Kimbrough Roussel at 260-436-0746 or alumni@canterburyschool.org to discuss a possible speaking appearance.
