This creative and educational program contains a multi-skilled, planned lesson based around a specific art activity. Depending on the project, activities can last one or multiple days. Each week a new theme unwraps itself through books, music, games, photos and, ultimately, the art projects. The program supports the premise that children’s art should come from their hands. Their artistic expressions are valuable and important in exploring new mediums and taking joy in creating.

The students develop new skills such as the use of lines, shapes, colors, and repeated patterns, painting techniques, fine motor skills, working in two and three dimensions, and art history. Nature, which can be viewed through “Art Eyes,” holidays and cultural differences are all inspirational to the projects.
